Fall Living Room Decor

I absolutely love the Fall season.  We were even married in the Fall…October.  Next month I will share our Fall wedding, even though we will be married for 6 years.  I can show you all of the DIY projects we did for our wedding to save money.  So stay tuned for that post around October 22nd.  Anyway, back to my Fall living room decor.  I have been itching to change over the house to my Fall colors.  I was sort of done with the Summer a few weeks ago.  Fall in New York starts on September 22nd this year, so I am just in time to have the house ready.  I will have a few more posts about the rest of the house and how I added Fall all around.  Let’s take a look around the living room.
I wanted to add in some subtle touches of Fall into our home.  I love adding in orange and green, plus some muted purple this year and I even left in a pop of turquoise to have some fun.  Seems to be a trend I just started to see on Pinterest this week.  Check it out here, here, here, here, here.

I started to really like Mercury Glass this year.  I had to have some and now I think I need more for Christmas.  tee hee!!!  Aren’t they gorgeous?

I found this cute pear at HomeGoods.  Well I actually bought two of them, but the other one is in the bedroom.  Stay tuned for that post.

So here is the breakdown of the new stuff I bought for this room.  I already had a lot of the littler stuff…the filler pieces, but I wanted to add more to my Fall decor.  It’s great to be able to buy stuff over time and not spend a ton of money all at once.  Plus your taste changes from year to year and the styles change as well.

Wood pumpkin – Kohl’s = $4.99
Pear – HomeGoods = $7.99
Mercury Glass Votives – Kohl’s = $4.99 each

Bean Bag Pear – HomeGoods = $12.99
Decorative Woven Balls – HomeGoods = $9.99 for bag
Small Orange Pumpkins – HomeGoods = $7.99 for bag
Purple Throw – Kohl’s = $19.99

I already had some of the decor from past years.  Plus I already had the pillows and the curtains.

Check out all of the burnt orange and teal on Pinterest.  Lots to pin.  :)
Here is some eye candy for the color combo.  Love it.

Do you like orange with teal?  Do you have the combo in your home?  I would love to hear all about it.  Leave a comment so we can all see what others have in their homes.

Check out these other Fall post from the past.  1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Thanks for stopping by everyone!!!  Have a great day!!!  :)

Inspirational Eye Candy – Bedrooms

Check out this Gorgeous bedroom.  So calm, so relaxing.  I love that she used Turquoise & Gray together for this room. Check out the rest of the room, click on link below picture.
I’m crazy about Turquoise lately.  Love the calmness of this bedroom also.  Light gray walls, pops of Turquoise all around the room.  Love the high ceilings too.  Gorgeous, bright room!
Gray, White, Burnt Orange and a little Turquoise.  Love the combination of colors.  I love all the different patterns in this room.  They all go together and play off of one another.
Here is another Burnt Orange & Blue/Turquoise room.  This room reminds me of the beach.  The bench reminds me of driftwood, the rug reminds me of sand, the blue bedding reminds me of the sky & ocean and the orange reminds me of gorgeous sunsets.
This last bedroom is fun!  Check out all the different patterns, yet they all seem to go together.  All the blues & oranges play off of each other and the white in most of the materials brings them all together.
Well I hope you were inspired in some way by these pictures.  Thanks for stopping by.  I would love to hear from you so please leave a message for me.

Inspirational Eye Candy – Casual Dining Rooms

Casual Dining Rooms are so much easier in the home I think.  It makes everyone feel welcome and relaxed.  Plus they are a lot easier with kids.  You can have kid friendly seating (leather chairs or even plastic chairs).  I see more and more homes going with Casual Dining Areas or Dining Rooms lately….love the trend.
Enjoy the Eye Candy!!!
I love this room with Turquoise, B&W and then a punch of Pink.  Casual yet very classy.
Love the blue/orange/white scheme going on in this room.  So relaxing.  Plus those windows let in so much light.
I love Turquoise lately.  I need to inject more of it into my home.  I love the Turquoise with the grey/beige color.  Looks like an awesome place to gather and relax.
Love the brown/creme pattern on the bench and the wood table and chairs.  Great combo together.
I love the mix of textures and the mix of wood tones in this room.  Hello!!!  The dark wood table with the Pumpkin Orange chairs….gorgeous!  The white wood and the light colored walls keeps the room light and relaxing.  Love the texture in the shade on the window and the pendant shade also.
Again with the dark and light wood tones….but I love the pop of the lime green.  Very crisp!
Great combo with straight lines and curved lines to compliment this room.  The straight lines in the shelves and cabinets are then complimented with the round table and all the round vases on the shelves.  Nice little punch of color with the blue on the chairs.
I love the round table with those gorgeous rounded back chairs.  And there is that Turquoise again…in the chandelier & it looks like the backsplash in the kitchen too.  Love the pattern on the chairs.
Love the texture with the bamboo shade and the wood table, mixed in with that great pattern on the banquette.  Great family & friend gathering place.
I just love all the texture in this room.  Light woods with darker woods with a splash of grey/blue thrown in.  Love the light and airy feel of this room.
What an awesome place for a casual Dining Area.
Casual yet very elegant.  A room that could be dressed up more for those more special occasions.
Hope you have enjoyed the Eye Candy!!!

Fall Inspiration

Let’s bring all those wonderful outdoor Fall colors into our house’s.  Think Burnt Orange, Yellow, Dark Red, Dark Chocolate Brown & Green.  These colors remind me of mums, leaves, tree bark and pumpkins.  But just making little changes to your home is all you really need to do to bring the outside…….inside.  You don’t need to paint your walls.  A throw, curtains, new pillow covers or new pillows, some real or faux pumpkins, candles, tables cloths.  Fall makes me feel like starting a fire, getting under a blanket and reading a good book or blogging. 😉  I love texture inside a home.  Add some colorful pillows, layer throws with pillows in the bedroom and living.  Add burlap table runners to add texture to your dining room table.  Candles, candles and more candles.  Nothing makes a house nice and cozy and romantic for that matter then candles.  All of these additions can just be pops of color in your home and are easy to change out for the next season.

Enjoy your Fall Season.

Fall Redesign – The Living Room

I love decorating for the Fall. It’s my favorite time of the year. It only took me about 30 minutes to transform from Summer decor to Fall decor…..and I didn’t spend any new money. I pretty much decorate with the same materials each year. I love Burnt Orange and Sage Green together or Burnt Orange and Light Slate Blue. I have a neutral Living Room already with light Beige on the walls, black leather couch and a pretty neutral area rug.

Before with Summer Decor
After with Fall Decor

I changed the Slate Blue curtains for Burnt Orange lined curtains first. Then I put the Slate Blue pillows away and brought out the Burnt Orange ones. (The blue pillows are actually red underneath and the blue is a pillow cover). Then I took my multi colored Slate Blue throw from our Master Bedroom and put it on the couch. I added white craft pumpkins, faux gourds and some burnt orange flowers (in place of the blue Hydrangeas that were there) and I was done with the switch from Summer to Fall.
I also bought new lamps and shades for the Living Room. The old ones were too dark for the room and didn’t give us good light (1st picture). Now these new crackled crystal bases and white drum shades give great light in the room and I love the new look to the room. (lamps and shades purchased at Target)

Money Saving Tips:
  • Great way to save money would be to buy pillow covers and just buy one set of the pillow insert. You can now have a “new” look for each season or each time you just want to refresh the room.
  • Switch pillows, decor, or throws from other rooms and get a different look in the other room.
