New Decor for My Home

I went shopping recently!!!  First I went to Home Goods and picked up a few things.
I couldn’t pass this beauty up.  I love the blue and green in it.  I’ll put family pictures in it and put it out in our Living Room when I’m done. $9.99

Then I went to Bed, Bath & Beyond.  Another favorite store of mine.  Love those 20% off coupons.  Had two, plus I had Gift Cards……so these lovelies were mine to take home for free.  But they were $29.99 each, less the 20% off each.
Right now we have a black leather couch, but we will be replacing it with either a medium to light gray one or maybe a medium beige/taupe couch instead.  Just haven’t found what we are looking for yet, but I will be sure to share with you when we find the right one.

These I also found at Home Goods.  I wanted to buy some lanterns last year, but I knew the room I was going to be putting them in wouldn’t be ready until this year.  Hopefully we will start to work on our Sunroom this year (over the next couple of months) and these pretties will look awesome in the room once we are done. These were $19.99, $12.99, $9.99.
Then I went to Lowe’s to pick up samples of some flooring and I found this really pretty runner for my hallway.  $54.00 for a 7 ft. runner.  I have been wanting to replace the rugs in the hallway and Living Room for awhile now and this one really caught my eye.  Plus I think it will go really nice with the new pillows and once we figure out the new couch.  It will all come together in the end.
Before

After

It’s a brown background, but it has a gray undertone to it.  Plus there is beige, blue gray & a hint of white thrown in.  I love it.  So I’m probably dragging the hubby back to Lowe’s to buy the rug for the Living Room this weekend.

Thanks for stopping by.  I would love to hear from you, so please leave me a message.  Have a great night.

House Tour

Over the next several weeks, I will take you on a tour of our whole home.  Since I was not blogging 3.5 years ago, I figured I would share it with you now.  I have all of the before, during and after pictures of the inside and outside.  It’s going to be a fun ride…well at least I hope it will be and even more fun for me to look back on all the DIY projects we did….all that we accomplished over the last 3.5 years.  Something we are really proud of ourselves for.  I’ll even show you how the rooms have evolved over the last 3.5 years.  Some of the tour will be projects that were too big for us to DIY, like when we got our whole outside cement redone in pavers.

Ever since we bought this home, I have found my true love…..Interior Decorating.  I always liked to move my room around when I was younger and help others out, but I never realized how much I really loved Interior Decorating until we bought our own home.  If it wasn’t for my friends & family that have encouraged me to pursue what I love, I would still feel like I was in a dead end job and not doing something I love.  I hope you enjoy my house tour.

I have about 12 rooms, plus outside and our sunroom (when we get to that project this year hopefully) to share with you in this house tour.  Along the way I will share lots of pictures ( I love taking pictures…another love of mine) and my decorating style.

I also started an online Interior Decorating class recently.  I’m very excited about that.

Here is one of our very first projects.  We live in a Hi-Ranch and have an apartment on the first floor.  This is what the Living Room apartment looked liked after we bought the house.

The rug was glued down and there was peel & stick tiles under the rug.  They had a bunch of animals and apparently they didn’t always get outside to do their business.  Gross!!!  So it had to go.

Then we had a laminate flooring installed.  So we saved some money with the labor of ripping out the rug.  The rug also went into the bedroom.  We did all laminate from the Living Room, into the Bedroom and the Bedroom closets.

Well that is just the start of our House Tour.  Lots more to come.  Thanks for stopping by.

Inspirational Eye Candy

I love exploring the internet for “Inspirational Eye Candy for the Home”.  I have so much saved up and I plan on sharing them with you, but just a little at a time.  I don’t want to give anyone Eye Candy overload.
I have fallen in love with Blue & Orange for decor in the home.  The color orange is not just for the Fall season anymore.
Love this Living Room. Neutral on the walls, neutral sofa’s, pops of orange on the curtains & pillows, blue accent chair & ottomans.  But check out the fun black & white rug. Still a comfortable and yet airy feeling room.

Look at that rug with dark hardwood floors…..Gorgeous!!!  OK, there isn’t blue in this room, but I just loved the rug and curtains with all the other neutrals in the room.

In this Living Room, I love how they brought in lots of natural materials.  The chair, coffee table, & even the rug looks like a cotton material.  A white room never looked so good with Blue & Orange mixed in. There is even an architectural ceiling.
Look at all of this great pattern through out the room.  There is pattern in the sofa, pillow, curtains that are very subtle, but that bolder orange pattern ottoman is gorgeous!  Neutral walls and rug which really keep the room feeling open and light.  And I love that the ottoman has dark wood and everything else has light wood. It’s probably one of the focal points in the room.

This Living Room has blue walls, with the pop of orange in the pillows, art and some of the furniture even.  But that chocolate sofa and brown leather chairs really make the room feel warm and comfy.  Love the white trim and mantle.

Love this room.  It’s bright and simple, but pleasing to the eye.  Lots of neutrals, but the pop of orange and blue bring the room to life.  Look at the texture in the rug and the pillow.  Gorgeous high ceilings with beautiful white trim.  The curtains aren’t to bold or over powering for this room at all.  And with all the straight lines in this room, I love the round side table they brought in.

This Living Room is very Beachy feeling to me.  Look at the walls and the then darker wood floors.  Love dark and light woods together in a room.  Gorgeous!!!  This room has just small splashes of blue & orange in it.  The rug, the pillows, the throw, curtains and the lamp shades.  I could sit in that room for hours and just be completely relaxed.
Well I hope you have enjoyed the Eye Candy.  I know I feel much more relaxed  & inspired after looking at these pictures.  Until next time……enjoy!
